A number of Great War projects have taken place at Tideway School in the past ten years.

This site will describe what those projects are.

Every February the annual school visit to the battlefields and cemeteries of the Great War takes place. In 2010 over 40 pupils will visit Vimy Ridge, Ypres and Poperinghe.

A study of the Great War is part of the curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4.

The school has been using the UniServity learning Platform since 2008 and has designed a major Western Front project on this.

Burville Collection

Welcome

Mrs Burville bought an album of negatives at a local flea market. These negatives have been scanned in school and you can see the results here.

Other projects described here include:

- The Trench (before moving into our new school we built a trench in the school grounds);

- Great War Churches;

- the Wreford-Brown Collection (original letters from the front).

OCTOBER 2011 is our next visit to the Front.
